It’s important to make customers feel like they can trust you and your brand. Displaying clear policies, trust certificates, good reviews, security badges, and contact information makes costumers feel safe. Hackers have caused everyone to become wary when asked for personal information, so it is extremely important to show your customers that they are safe engaging with your website.
- Looks do matter, no matter what, so your design will create the first impression that a customer will have of your business. Make sure this comes across well on mobile devices as well.
- Highlight the word “security” on secure areas to remind customers their information is safe. Reiterate it throughout your page.
- Clearly state your business practices such as highlighting your privacy, security and return policies. Make sure customers can find this information easily no matter what page they are on. For example displaying your privacy policy near the email address field.
- Visible contact information is also important for instilling confidence.
- Include third-party certification and affiliations.
